The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn the horrific, racially motivated violations, brutal killings, and abuse of hundreds of our brothers from the sisterly State of South Sudan in the city of Wad Madani and Al-Kanabi in Gezira State. These crimes were committed by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) militias and their allied Islamic and mercenary movements.

What our brothers from the sisterly State of South Sudan have endured in Wad Madani and parts of Al-Kanabi is part and parcel of the massacres that have targeted numerous Sudanese who fall outside the ethno-ideological classification of the Islamic Movement. This movement has persistently relied on hate speech and discrimination among Sudanese communities as a means to remain in power.

What happened in certain areas of Gezira State, particularly the killings and abuse against the people of South Sudan, is a manifestation of a deeply rooted mentality, a historical pattern, and an ongoing practice directed against segments of the Sudanese people. This behaviour stands in stark contradiction not only with the principles of sense of national belonging but also to the very essence of life and the fundamental right to human dignity.

While we express our deepest regret and solidarity with our brothers in the other half, the Republic of South Sudan, we reaffirm that this war is waged against the same mentality that has long practiced racism and exclusion. This mentality, even after the independence of South Sudan, persists in its divisive approach.

We have offered great sacrifices of martyrs and our brave soldiers are standing firm on all fronts to secure victory—first and foremost—for life itself, for humanity, and for the people of Sudan all over the country, upholding their right to coexistence, peace, and security.
